We are Amy & Adriana. We have been in the construction industry for more than 40 combined years. We have been restoring and preserving old buildings and residential structures for the last 12 years.
Our portfolio includes restoring old miner's cabins in Colorado Historic Districts, restoring the Town of Ward 1863 Post Office Building and the 1896 Union Congregational Church. In addition to our passion for architectural historic preservation, we are also very experienced at any type of remodel or addition to a pre-existing structure. We have completed multiple high altitude additions and remodels. Our most comprehensive project includes building a two story home from the ground up without hiring any subcontractors. This Design + Build project was completed by both of us using mostly upccyled materials.
Amy has worked in many trades, seeking apprenticeships with very skilled craftsmen who enjoy their work and cherish their creations. Amy started her career with a painting apprenticeship in Boulder CO. She began her own finishes company in the year 2001. Working in the finish industry led her to work with adobe floors, lime plaster, american clay and tadelakt. She has had the opportunity to work for very creative architects who craft unconventional projects. Always wanting to learn more, Amy's work has branched into most aspects of building. She worked in a framing crew for a number of years. Amy is quite comfortable with framing structures from start to finish, installing doors and windows, siding, tiling, building kitchens and bathrooms from scratch, installing wood-stoves and many other skills. Basically she is one of the most well rounded and versatile builders you can find. Being a woman in the construction world, she has had to proof herself over and over. She understands building envelopes, efficient home building techniques and overall what it takes to build a high altitude home and make it high performance and low maintenance.

With them, she incursionated in the art of making furniture, finishing murals and participating in multiple faux finishing projects. She went on to help her partner at the time to buy and fix historic homes in Charleston, SC. She then learned the art of demolition and deconstruction. She also began learning how to buy and remodel properties while keeping historic character relevant. She participated in multiple purchases undertaking trades such as drywall, painting and flooring. Adriana is passionate about building with salvaged materials. She is a talented finisher capable of restoring historic structures. Adriana is also the brain behind all of our spreadsheets.
