Chad's Roof Fall 2023

Some of our business comes from clients who contact us to please fix correctly another contractor's mistakes. Some old cabins have truly the "funky factor" that is in need of remediation. In this case, our client asked us to rebuild part of his roof. Previous contractors had added multiple layers of waterproofing materials including Grace Ice & Water shield followed by rolled roofing and metal. The incorrect layering made it such that the whole roof structure rotted. Upon deconstructing the roof, we found that the structure was improperly framed.

We designed a new roof structure adding a few degrees of pitch for proper draining. We advised our client to remove the door. Previous contractors had designed a roof/deck structure that was poor idea given the snow load and the improperly built deck design.
